Nah
First of all - the Civic Center really should not sell seats in the upper balcony for musicals. Not only could we NOT see the faces or expressions, we could not see him actually playing the guitar, and we could not understand/hear 25% of the conversation. The AC was so cold that one of us had to wear a scarf over her nose/mouth. What a waste of money. As for the musical - the performers were great, the music was fun and well done, but I did not find the story to be at all intriguing or even interesting. Did not care for the format of talking to a therapist. Much preferred the Carole King story which we found to be excellent.
A "highly average" noise
Wow, what a departure from the actual New York Broadway cast! With the exception of Nick, the vast majority of the remaining cast resembled that of an above average high school troop both in terms of acting quality as well as singing ability. Everyone seemed to be stretching for their parts, opting for over reach and overacting most of the show. Although the singing was in tune, that is the extent of what I can say for it. Central casting, reconsider your selections here!
