AWFUL, HARD TO FOLLOW, BORING AND WEIRD

I’ve been to high school plays better than this. This is a musical? I understand that they were trying to modernize this play but I am horrified of how poorly executed this was. The script was hard to follow, no scene changes, not even sure if they were in a bar, gun shop or at an outdoor picnic? The dramatic effects and completely dark scenes we’re weird and uncomfortable to watch. Also, this was falsely advertised as if you click on the main page and go directly to book your ticket there is nothing that says it’s a reimagined version. You can only find that information if you click on the banner itself. Also, you should not be advertising Rodgers and Hammerstein and not put anything else on the banner. This was selling tactic to get people in the door.

OK-NO WAY

This was a Christmas Gift for my Mom & I. What a disappointment for us both! I am always open for new interpretations, but right from the get-go, the school cafeteria was very awkward and uncomfortable. The talented cast did their best, but I honestly felt bad for them. The whole show felt weird & disconnected. The dark scenes sent mixed message & were way too long. Stay Home & watch the classic version with Shirley Jones!

WORST PLAY I'VE EVER SEEN.

God Awful. Whoever directed this catastrophe should be fired. I've seen so many wonderful productions at PPAC this is the first stinker. Now I'll have to check the reviews prior to going to future PPAC shows. They should have paid me to endure this production it was that bad. I want a refund. I bought orchestra center seats and we were sitting way in the back. Couldn't see the actor's faces. I think the speakers may not have even been working in the back of the theatre. Although you could hear a few really impressive voices especially Sasha Hutchins who I thought was incredible, but the sound was so bad and her voice was so low in the mix. They actually stopped the entire production due to even more sound issues just before intermission. Worst sound in a production I've ever heard. The one set was a joke. Could they at least spend a few bucks on costumes and sets???!!!! One set for the entire show of some folding tables and chairs. All the actors sitting around in a bright lighted room just staring most of the show. This show was disturbing. The super bright lights beamed at the audience for a long time at one point was awful. The music was either way too soft or way too loud!! At one point it was so bad I thought maybe this was supposed to be a comedy. I felt really bad for some of the actors who clearly looked like they did not want to be there. This was our first show back to PPAC since Covid started. I don't know if Covid resulted in a loss of talent in the direction department or what.. but I hope PPAC gets their act back together soon or they will not be in business putting on shows like that for much longer.

NOT WHAT YOU'D EXPECT

This take on Oklahoma was quite frankly horrible. The acting sucked, there was no one on stage who could sing or dance for that matter. And the second half of the show was too loud. I feel like if there were any regulations on the sound volume for shows, you just broke them all. For the price you are asking for these tickets I expected a professional performance which this was not. On top of it all, it has you leaving the theater saying, wtf did I just watch?

OKLAHOMA: HOW TO RUIN A GREAT MUSICAL

Not one redeeming feature. Regret that we went. Our friends left at intermission.

BIZARRE AND AWFUL

The best part of this show was the fact that so many people left before the end that leaving the theater and getting out of the parking lot was a breeze.

WASTED MY PRECIOUS TIME

My husband and I have been Season Ticket holders for years and have never walked out of a show. A high school production team would have done a better job. The cast could not sing or act or could bother to be on stage. It was like watching a group of people in detention hall. Story line is hard to follow. About 75% of the audience left at intermission. I even feel asleep during the dark scenes. Safe your money and your precious time. This is an embarrassment to Broadway!!!
