PACK UP AND GO BACK TO NEW YORK

This is NOT the show that I have seen before. This show is a joke of the original and still trying to figure exactly what was that, that I saw last night....can't make out as to exactly what the show is about and the rewriting of the original is a huge mistake!! As for the free lance modern dancer, exactly what did that part have to do with the show??? I'm telling you, it was weird, strange and cannot understand the message of this show. The set was never changed and only one costume change... it looked like the cast was having a picnic sitting on the picnic tables for the majority of the show. The actors needed to show more enthusiasm of the role they were playing as there wasn't any chemistry throughout the so called show. At least try to show that they are enjoying themselves because they looked miserable and were there to hurry to get through the show. Save yourself from further embarrassment and go home to regroup and rewrite this monstrosity of a show. Do not waste your $$$$.

SO DISAPPOINTED.

Acting was lazy and uninteresting. So was the set, as they didn’t seem to believe in scene changes. The storyline of Oklahoma! was made perverted and dull. If Broadway really wanted to create a current musical, go ahead - but don’t slap on the name Oklahoma! - for the sake of preserving a classic. I am 22 and have my Bachelors in the Arts. Usually I am completely open to producers trying new things, but not when it distorts the very core of a good story. Also, I do not usually write reviews, but I am truly so upset about this production!

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE?

May wife and I have had Peace center season tickets for three years and have never been disappointed until now. We went expecting to see a bright, lively and cheerful classic. Instead we got a dark, depressing high school play. I was offended by the constant woke undertones, trying to make some sort of statement. What a complete disaster! I hope that we are not headed into an era when this sort of manipulation is done to all of the classics.

NOT EVEN OK

Ruined a classic. Boring slow - no set changes - No costume changes - and they needed to change those outfits! No one but the gal who played Ado Annie seemed to care. Half of the audience left at intermission.

SUFFERS FROM MASSIVE ORAL INTAKE

That was one of the worst plays I’ve seen. The first act dragged and the opening of the 2nd with that totally useless dance routine did not belong in an already bad play. It just prolonged the agony for the audience. Rogers and Hammerstein must be spinning in their graves.

OKLAHOMA

Wouldn’t let me give it no stars. Peace Center sold me two tickets for $200 for a show misrepresented as Rogers and Hammerstein “Oklahoma”. Wasn’t that at all. Very poorly made, dark, terrible, remake. Peace Center should be ashamed of allowing this show to be marketed and represented as the Oklahoma musical

OKLAHOMA DIED

Sadly, this rendition was poorly written and performed worst. If there was a director, he/ she should should visit our Governor’s School for the Arts and take notes… Lots of notes. However, the night was saved by great dinning at Nantucket This show was a waste of time and money…!
